Daniel Monkh Horrell, known simply as Monkh, is a multi-faceted, powerhouse funk artist hailing from St. Louis, Missouri. Renowned for his high-energy performances and infectious grooves, Monkh's live shows are an exhilarating experience that blend funk, jazz, and trap elements, creating a party-like atmosphere with deep healing undertones. His guitar shredding capabilities and uplifting stage presence have captivated audiences, making each show a transformative event.

Monkh has shared the stage with legendary acts such as Carl Denson, Cool Cool Cool (formerly Turkuaz), and has graced festival stages alongside the likes of Carlos Santana and Lettuce. His unique fusion of genres, coupled with his band’s dynamic synergy, turns every set into a jam-packed celebration of sound and spirit.

In 2024, Monkh released five electrifying tracks, with two more slated for release by year’s end. His standout single, "Freedom," a poignant anthem addressing mental health and the journey toward liberation, has gained regular airplay on St. Louis' jazz station 88.7FM.

Monkh embarked on two West Coast tours in 2024 with Portland-based Super Secret Band, touring from March into April and again in June. With his sights set on an album release in early 2025, Monkh plans to take his unstoppable funk machine on tour throughout the year, spreading joy, rhythm, and deep grooves to audiences across the nation.

More recently Monkh has been releasing live videos on Youtube of brand new music form his upcoming project ‘Therapy Sessions’. “This album is focused around healing people through music and expression. I want it to be a tool for resolve, so I consider it highly medicinal and have crafted the project in an particular way that your essentially going through mental health steps. Mental health is an ongoing process through your life, and Monkh has felt it necessary to start writing music that’s sole purpose is to heal people. Therapy Sessions will be released early Fall 2022.
